PowerClub Basics - Choosing the right size clubs for you
I've been using the PowerClubs for a while now and regularly get asked how best to choose the right size to train with.
Guys especially, refuse to believe that a "light" club will ever provide enough resistance to gain any appreciable results with, that is until they try the PowerClubs out!
The reasons why PowerClubs are so effective stem from the extreme leverage disadvantage a weighted club presents. Couple this with explosive lifting and swinging and you have a recipe for a monster workout with not much resistance.
So here is a quick guide on sizing your PowerClubs.
For men:
If the focus is on mobility drills go for a pair of 2kg to 6kg
If the focus is on endurance go for a pair of 4kg to 8kg
If the focus is on strength go for a pair of 6kg to 10kg
If the focus is on maximal, explosive strength (only for very advanced trainers) go for a pair of 10kg and a single 15kg
For true Barbarians, you'll want to get a 20kg and beyond!
